The SCS Golf Team is open to all students (male and female) from Grades 6 through 8. Members have some degree of prior golf experience.
The SCS Golf Team meets every Saturday morning at a local public course for six weeks in the Fall. There are usually around twenty to thirty students who come out to play nine holes and enjoy time on the course with friends. Students who participate are expected to have some degree of prior experience/instruction in the game of golf. In the past, the golfers have played a “mini-shotgun” format, where groups of four tee off on different holes at the same time, allowing most groups to complete nine holes. Sometimes, games such as closest to the pin, are played on a particular hole to keep things fun and interesting for the students. Golf is a game of honesty, integrity and courtesy, and these are qualities we like to focus on with the students. Parent chaperones who possess a valid volunteer badge from the rectory are always needed to walk the course with groups (no golf experience necessary).
